Here are some of the wallpaper images we use at home. They work in Windows 95 and 98.
Your best bet is to right-click the image and select "save link as. . ." because what you see is a jpeg image for your browser but it is linked to a bitmap for your wallpaper.

This is called "Smiles." the .jpg you see is 20,480 bytes and the .bmp is 98,304 bytes
